It’s spring and love is in the air. This also means bridal showers and baby shower invitations are on their way. Wondering what to wear to a Bridal or Baby Shower as a guest? I found the perfect dress for your next event.

I enjoy gathering with my family and friends to celebrate an upcoming wedding or the birth of a child. This means I’m going to wear something nice to let the hostess know that this celebration is considered special! That being said, I’m putting on my Sunday Best. My first choice is typically a dress.

Recently, while shopping on Amazon. I came across this pretty floral print 3/4 sleeve dress. I had remembered previously seeing it on a fellow blogger- Cathy from The Middle Page Blog. And I was excited to see it available on Amazon, for under $40. With free shipping and free returns, I decided to give it a try. Although the shipping took a little longer than expected, two weeks versus the typical two days, I was still eager to give the dress a try.

It arrived packaged very nicely. The quality and the print are great. After reading the size chart, I decided to size up. I usually wear a size 2 in dresses. I could have possibly taken my usually size, however, I am happy to be more comfortable. The dress is a available in a variety of prints and patterns, but I do love the quality and print of this blush pink. I plan to wear this to a shower I have in April.

Showers are no longer reserved for Sunday afternoons. I’ve attended midweek evening showers, Saturday afternoon showers, and even Friday night showers. When deciding what to wear take into consideration the location and the time of day. Also check to see if there is a theme. Shower themes are often indicated on the invite. Of course, you’ll want to be comfortable and this means dressing in something that you enjoy wearing.  

Showers are a time to socialize and reconnect with other as well as honor the mom to be or bride to be. Little girls dream of one day getting married and/or becoming a mom. These dreams all turn into reality in the circle of life. When you’re included in this special time of celebration for someone consider the fact that your circle has now grown bigger.

Something that you can grab out of your closet and go. My mornings are definitely not as chaotic as they used to be. As a mother of four children, I had my share of rushed mornings. In fact, one of my sons even asked me to not drop him off at school anymore in my pajamas.

Nowadays, my mornings for the most part are calm. And, I have the luxury of taking my time. However, I still have days where I want to grab an outfit quickly before heading out the door.

A few months ago, I happened to notice my daughter’s eyelashes looked longer and fuller. I asked what she was doing, and she mentioned she had started using Neulash lash enhancing serum. After seeing her lashes, I was interested in giving it a try to see for myself if this really worked. Typically, I do not wear eye makeup during the day unless I’m dressing up to go out. I prefer not to wear mascara everyday and the idea of having longer lashes by using a serum sounded like a solution.

I went to Nordstrom and made a purchase. Personally, I liked how a prescription was not necessary. After a few weeks I saw some improvement in my lash growth but not as significant as my daughter’s lashes. Her lashes looked longer and thick, and there was an obvious change in their appearance. Since I was a little puzzled about my progress we compared notes. I found out she was applying hers as directed once a day in the evening. I was applying mine during the day after I showered. Needless to say, I was reprimanded by her that I should be following the instructions.

How to Use NeuLash Serum

The directions are pretty simple; Apply nightly to the base of the upper lashes once a day. The product comes in a tube that looks like liquid eye liner although the serum is clear. All you need to do is swipe it across the base of your lashes. Your eyes need to be completely clean of any creams or make up.  

I decided it would be easier for me to apply it during the day because at night I use castor oil to remove eye makeup if I’m wearing. I thought the oil would interfere with the serum’s ingredients. It has been about six weeks of my using NeuLash and I do see a difference in the length of my lashes. Especially when I apply mascara.

Yes, absolutely! My eyelashes are definitely longer than what they were before I started using NeuLash. I’m certain that using the serum helped my lashes to grow. Did applying it in the morning slow down the outcome? Probably, but I’m not sure, I just know that it took longer for mine to grow than it did my daughters.  I’m giving NeuLash a good recommendation. I’m happy with my results and will continue to use it as recommended.

I have recently been impressed with all of the fashionable clothing and accessories that you can find on Amazon. I have been using Amazon for a while but mostly my purchases were for basic household and beauty needs, and of course toys for my grandchildren. My smart shopper daughter brought to my attention that you can find some very stylish women’s clothing at great prices at Amazon Fashion. Aside from a few accessories that I have shown you recently    I’m excited to show you my newest amazon fashion finds for under $50.

Shopping online can be intimidating if you’re not very familiar with the websites. Therefore, I like Amazon, it’s a trusted website. I’m also a Prime Member so my order comes quickly. As for returns, when purchases did not work out, I was able to send them back without any issues.

Women’s Slip Satin Midi Skirt -I mentioned in a previous post that I had my eye on this silk midi skirt. So, I decided to try it out for spring. I plan to wear this during the daytime in place of shorts for a casual look with flats and in the evenings with low boots and a sweater. I ordered a size small which is one size up from my normal size.

Romwe Women’s Mock Long Sleeve Blouse Sizes XS-XL $18.99

Romwe Women’s Mock Long Sleeve Blouse – I picked out this long sleeved blouse because of the sleeves. They really are a statement. And, big puffy sleeves are one of the hottest trends right now. There is an opening in the back which adds a little chicness to the basic mock neckline. I will wear this with either my satin skirt or a pair of denim jeans. Once again, I ordered up one size

Crochet Beach Cover Up- One Size $18.99

Crochet Beach Cover Up– My daughter Brittany ordered this for her upcoming beach vacation. If I had to describe her personal style, I’d say on it’s on the feminine side with a casual twist. This cover-up is stylish yet also very comfortable. It’s one size fits most- while she is short like me, the cover up is floor length.

Overall, I’m going to add Amazon to my list of favorite places to online shop. Just because the clothes are not expensive does not mean that they lack in quality. I do make it a point to read reviews and check the full descriptions when purchasing. Most of the time I have found the ratings and reviews to be very reliable and use them as a guide when making purchases on any website. Adding a few new pieces to update your wardrobe has now become super easy.

I was recently gifted a cookbook called Rustic Joyful Food written by Danielle Kartes, One thing that stood to me about her was that she uses food to bring together loved ones. This spoke to me as the kitchen has always been the heart of our home. I enjoy nothing more than sharing food with loved ones. It was a cold January day when I fist made this tasty delicious White Bean, Sausage, & Spinach Soup. After posting a few pictures on Facebook I received numerous responses asking for the recipe. Which is why I am sharing it with you today on the blog.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces of fresh sweet Italian Sausage removed from casing
  • 1 yellow onion chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves of fresh garlic chopped
  • 1 cup carrots chopped
  • 1 celery chopped
  • 2 medium white potatoes sliced
  • 5 cups of chicken stock
  • 1 15 ounce can of white beans drained and rinsed
  • 4-5 cups of fresh spinach
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (optional)

Directions for White Bean Sausage & Spinach Soup

Brown the sausage in a large soup pot. When the sausage is cooked, remove it from the pot. Add the onion and the olive oil and sauté the onion until translucent. Add the garlic, celery, carrots, potatoes, salt and pepper. After a few minutes add the chicken stock, meat, and sausage drippings back into the pot. Bring to a simmer for around 30 minutes until all vegetables are soft, then add the rinsed and drained beans. Continue to simmer for another 30 minutes, just before serving add the spinach and the lemon juice.

The soup was delicious, it was only after we ate that I realized I forgot to add the lemon juice before serving. I did add it afterwards and found that I preferred the soup without the lemon juice. This is simply a matter of preferred taste as both with or without the lemon juice were very tasty.

Since it is just my husband and I living at home I had a good portion of extra soup leftover. I reserved a little soup for lunch the next day and froze the rest. It does freeze very well. I plan to keep making this rich and savory soup as all you need is a loaf of crusty bread and your meal is complete.
